The Eclipse Foundation welcomes and encourages the growth of independent Jakarta EE user groups worldwide. To support these community efforts, the Eclipse Foundation permits use of the official Jakarta EE User Group logo in accordance with this policy, the Eclipse Foundation Trademark Usage Policy, and the Jakarta EE Trademark Guidelines.
1. Permitted Use
You are encouraged to use the Jakarta EE User Group logo on your group’s website, event pages, social media channels and slides to identify your group as part of the Jakarta EE community.
The Jakarta EE User Group logo should be downloaded from the official Jakarta EE website and may be used solely to identify and promote non-commercial, community-led Jakarta EE user groups and their activities (e.g., events, websites, presentations, and communications).
2. Naming
User groups should follow the format: “Jakarta EE User Group – [Location]” or a similar location-based variation approved by the Eclipse Foundation.
Note: Existing Java User Groups (JUGs) or tech associations who are interested in supporting Jakarta EE, can use the Jakarta EE User Group logo. User groups wishing to include the Jakarta EE trademark in their group name must do so in accordance with the Eclipse Foundation Trademark Usage Policy.
3. Logo Integrity
The logo must be used only in its official form as provided by the Eclipse Foundation. It may not be modified, combined with other logos, or incorporated into another brand without prior written approval.
4. Independence / No Endorsement
Use of the logo does not imply any affiliation with, sponsorship by, or endorsement from the Eclipse Foundation.
User groups must not represent themselves as acting on behalf of the Eclipse Foundation or the Jakarta EE Working Group.
5. Non-Commercial Use
The logo may not be used for commercial purposes, including products, services, or marketing that suggests official certification, sponsorship, or endorsement, without prior written approval.
6. Domains and Identifiers
This policy does not grant any right to register or use Eclipse Foundation trademarks (including “Jakarta EE”) in domain names, company names, or social media handles without prior written approval.
7. Attribution
Where reasonably practicable, include the following notice:
Jakarta EE is a trademark of Eclipse Foundation. [Group name] is an independent community group and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Eclipse Foundation.
8. Revocation
The Eclipse Foundation may modify or revoke permission to use the logo at any time if this policy is not followed.
